Celebrities Who Have Infinite Love for Cats

A lot of people look up to celebrities. They try to emulate their way of life, invest time in new hobbies because of them, and just love following news about them in general. So, it comes as no surprise that when a celebrity reveals something about themselves that we can relate to, we get all giddy and excited. Our idol does something that we love to do too! Who wouldn’t be excited about that?

Us cat lovers love nothing more than to obsess over cats all day long. From just how adorable they are, to how they can be very loving creatures when they want to. When we find another cat lover in the wild, we strike up a conversation around them and start fawning over our pets. These moments are something all cat lovers cherish, and they sometimes even bloom into new friendships. So, how do we feel if we suddenly find out that a celebrity that we love also has a soft spot for cats? Let’s list some celebrities who love cats and see if you spot one that you follow already.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry is loved all across the globe. She’s energetic, funny, and writes some really good songs. She also loves cats, and that’s enough to get us on board the Katy Perry fan train. Katy Perry was known for the excellent name she picked for her cat; Kitty Purry. Unfortunately, Kitty Purry passed away early last year, and poor Katy has been mourning her loss since. She had been with Kitty Purry for 15 years, and had this to say about her after her passing, “Two litters and many moons later, this street cat became a loveable mascot to many.”

Kim Kardashian

The Kardashians are a pretty big deal in the United States as well as the world over. Millions of people obsess over every little detail about the Kardashian family, even leading to a whole television series aired around this premise by the name of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, which focused on both the professional and private lives of the Kardashian family.

Though Kim Kardashian loves cats too, she’s also allergic to them, the worst fate a cat lover could ever hope to get. Kanye West had gifted Kim a kitten many years ago, who was then named Mercy. That was when Kim learned of her allergy, and halfheartedly passed on the little kitty to Sydney Hitchcock, her sister Khloe’s assistant who had recently just lost her cat. Unfortunately, this story doesn’t have a happy ending. Mercy, just four months old, had to be euthanized when she became host to a virus resembling cancer.

Taylor Swift

You’d be lying if you said you didn’t know who Taylor Swift was. Love her or not, you can’t deny that she is a very successful singer with millions upon millions of fans who religiously follow her every move. And better yet, she loves cats just like us. Back when Taylor Swift used to super active on social media, she would make lots of posts about her cats. At the moment she has three cats, two Scottish Folds named Meredith and Olivia, and another cat named Benjamin who she adopted from the set of her music video called “ME!”. Also, Taylor Swift had some really sweet words to say about her cats; “My cats are beautifully round and fuzzy and they look like little lazy bears – they’re always taking naps.”

Kat Dennings

Kat Dennings has been stealing hearts since 2000, and she stole ours when she revealed just how much of a cat lover she really was. “I am the person who just does not want to go out,” she has gone on record to say. “I just want to stay home and like, play with my cat.” Who doesn’t want to do that we ask? She also tells us that being a cat lady is the best thing ever. And hey, who are we to disagree with such a true statement.

Ricky Gervais

Ricky Gervais is a beloved figure. He’s especially known for his comedy, and of course, for his role in the T.V series ‘The Office’. Ricky Gervais also loves cats, and that’s all that matters. He had a cat named Ollie who sadly passed away last year, and Ricky Gervais expectedly took it quite hard. He then decided to foster a cat to help him in the healing process, but ended up adopting the cat Pickle. Pickle and Ricky now share many posts online about their newfound relationship and all the shenanigans they get up to.

Miley Cyrus

From Disney star to worldwide phenomenon, Miley Cyrus’s newfound fame came in like a wrecking ball and helped her soar to new heights, earning her the moniker ‘Teen Queen’ for her fame at such a young age. Miley Cyrus is another fellow cat lover, who first showed her fans her cat in the year 2015. Since then she has gotten not just three more cats, but so many other pets that the tally comes to a whopping thirteen.

Lovingly called her personal zoo by fans, Miley once owned three cats, nine dogs, and a pig. The pig passed away in 2019 and left Miley and a lot of fans heartbroken, but Miley continues to love all her pets the same. Even the unnamed cat who fought Miley so hard on one occasion that Miley was left covered in blood.

Ed Sheeran

Heartthrob singer Ed Sheeran turns out to also be like us when it comes to cats. In 2014 he rescued a cat that was about to be put down and called him Graham. Unfortunately, Graham passed away recently in 2019. Ed Sheeran also has two other cats; Dorito and Calippo, and he also has an Instagram account for them, much like the Twitter account he had made for Graham all those years ago.
