There is also a PHLASH Help but that has not been any help. Instead of Winphlash actually telling you the real reason, it claims the BIOS is unflashable. I read running WinPhlash with the "/forceit" switch will do the trick however it makes no difference with my version.I've also tried looking for earlier versions of WinPhlash in the hope Anyway, I don’t know if this will help but try please to remove battery and check if BIOS update starts if your notebook runs on AC power supply only. Dialog text: BIOS update failed! So with battery and DC power plugged in or not when I pressed the poweron button I just had a blink of the poweron led and the laptop didn't start. Using above utility can flash BIOS of either Mini9 or Vostro A90 with or without battery installed...

I even have one I can boot into DOS with.
